Narayanpet: The police on Thursday seized gutka packets worth Rs 2 lakh that was being smuggled illegally by a car, near Yerragutta region in the district. As part of vehicle checking, the police stopped a Tata Indigo car. Two persons were allegedly illegally transporting large consignment of gutka packets. The police immediately seized the gutka and arrested the two persons and send them to remand. “We have seized gutka packets worth Rs 2 lakh from two persons who were illegally transporting the contraband in a Tata Indigo car. A case has been booked against the culprits and further investigation is on,” the Narayanpet police said. According to the police, the two accused persons are residents of Mahbubnagar district and they regularly supply gutka to various shops in the district.
