CLASSY ST EUNAN’S SEE OFF FANCIED ST MICHAEL’S TO BOOK PLACE IN COUNTY FINAL

first_imgREIGNING County Champions booked their place in yet another county final this evening with a superb win over a much-fancied St Michael’s at Mac Cumhaill Park.Two superb second half goals by Lee McMonagle and Conor Parke helped the Letterkenny team to a ten point win over Eddie Harkin’s side 2-15 to 0-11.St Eunan’s had led by just two points at half time – 0-08 to 0-06 – despite dominating for most of the first half hour. St Michael’s had led 0-04 to 0-02 before Eunan’s domination, hitting six points in a row as Kavanagh dominated midfield; Rory Carr with the pick of the Eunan’s scores.St Michael’s tied the game at eight points each straight after the re-start before Colm McFadden hit a free from 45 metres to take them into the lead 0-09 to 0-08 before they stretched the lead again from another free.Sean McVeigh pointed for the Letterkenny men to leave it 0-10 to 0-09 for St Michael’s before Rory Carr squared the game again from a free.Then St Eunan’s never looked back; McMonagle finding the net first, followed a few minutes later by the brilliant Parke.
