WEATHER WARNING: MET EIREANN ISSUES STORM WARNING FOR DONEGAL

first_imgMet Eireann have issued another weather warning as the adverse conditions that have battered Donegal over the last 24 hours are set to continue.Donegal was hammered with strong gale-force winds last night that caused many homes in the Rosses to be left without electricity.The Arranmore Fast Ferries was forced to suspend its service this afternoon as the strong winds and high seas made the crossing from Burtonport to Arranmore too dangerous too attempt. It had resumed this morning for a time, but management issued a statement via Facebook to announce all crossings would be cancelled from 2.30pm onwards.They also indicted that due to the stormy weather all early morning sailing tomorrow would also be suspended.Met Eireann have issued the storm warning for the entire country, but coastal counties like Donegal are expected to suffer the most.Gardaí are advising motorists to drive carefully and to avoid any unnecessary journeys if at all possible.
