first_imgDirector Stephen FingletonThe son of a Letterkenny man has been nominated for a prestigious BAFTA award.The British Academy Film and Television awards (BAFTA) nominations came out yesterday, and Fermanagh man Stephen Fingleton came out in the ‘Outstanding Debut’ category. by Ryan McBrideFingleton, whose father is from Letterkenny, was picked up by the BAFTAs for his first feature film ‘The Survivalist’, which he wrote and directed with £50,000 funding from the British Film Institute.‘The Survivalist’ is drawing attention big attention from film critics across the world.It has already won the Enniskillen native the ‘Best New Narrative director’ in the Tribeca Film Festival, the Douglas Hikox Award in the British independent film awards and the Citizen Kane award for Best Directorial Revelation in the Catalonian International Film Festival.
