We think that it is a way of putting pressure on the government of Dominica to suspend the program,” he added.Senior Counsel, Anthony Astaphan.Meantime Senior Council Anthony Astaphan says the move is “another desperate and despicable act by a desperate man, who is yet to confront the reality of his lies, misinformation and the tremendous damage he has caused to the country”.“Fountain knows that we have reached out to him by email and he knows from circulations in the internet that the statement of claim has been filed. He is ill advised about what his actions could amount to. He doesn’t understand that all of his actions to date are being recorded for purposes of evidence to enlarge and to aggravate the damages payable to the prime minister in the event that he wins,” Astaphan said. He further described Fountain as “a man whose ego has been totally inflated with self promotion who wants to see the destruction of Dominica and the prime minister”.Astaphan said the case gives Thomson an open public forum to bring his evidence and instead he plays “hide and seek in Washington”.The Senior Council considers the press conference as a “childish and corrupt act”, in the face of the proceedings. The press conference will be aired on TDN RADIO in Washington on Saturday January 7, 2012 at 8:30 P.M.
