The latest flagships from the Huawei sub-brand come with top-end, premium specifications at mid-range prices, which is what Honor is known for. Much like the Honor View 20, the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro are driven by a Kirin 980 SoC with Android Pie at its heart. Following the global launch, the Honor 20 series is all set to debut in India on June 11.The Honor 20 series not just about delivering flagship-grade performance. Like the Huawei P30 Pro, the new Honor phones also tout impressive photography capabilities with their quad camera setup. The front sees an all-screen display with a tiny hole on the top left corner for the selfie camera much like the View 20. The phones also come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as you may have seen on some Samsung devices.– For the rear glass panel, Honor has employed a 3D Triple Mesh technology that includes three layers of glass, colour and depth. The panel reflects light in a way to create subtle patterns and a gradient effect. The 3D curved glass is curved on all four sides. The Honor 20 Pro will be offered in Phantom Blue and Phantom Black gradient colours, while the Honor 20 will be available in Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black and Icelandic White colours.– The Honor 20 flagships also tout an impressive camera system. Both the phones get a 48MP Sony IMX586 camera and a 16MP ultra wide-angle camera. Notably, the Pro model offers a f/1.4 which makes it the world’s widest aperture on a phone. Additionally, the Pro model gets a 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 10x lossless zoom and a 2MP macro lens. The regular Honor 20 trades the telephoto camera for a 2MP depth camera. The Honor 20 Pro also features 4-axis OIS on the main camera and telephoto camera.– The Honor 20 cameras also support AIS Super Night Mode for crisp and sharp low-light shots, AI Ultra Clarity mode and super slo-mo recording at 960fps in 720p, among other things. The Honor 20 Pro has already been ranked by DxOMark with a score of 111, which ties it with the OnePlus 7 Pro for the third spot in the camera rankings.– Since the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro are flagship devices, they have to get the latest Kirin 980 SoC by Huawei. The 7nm-based chipset offers a 75 per cent boost in CPU performance over the predecessor and a 58 per cent improvement in power efficiency. The regular Honor 20 with a 6GB + 128GB configuration is priced at EUR 499 (approx Rs 38,780). The Honor 20 Pro with an 8GB + 256GB storage configuration costs EUR 599 (approx Rs 46,500).Honor is set to launch the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro in India on June 11 and you can expect similar mid-range pricing. In fact, the phones may launch with more competitive prices in the country in order to take on competition like the OnePlus 7 series.
