Kasper Schmeichel was the hero for the Danish as he saved an extra-time penalty from Real Madrid star Luka Modric, and stopped two more in the ensuing shoot-out.In the end, he couldn’t stop Ivan Rakitic’s winning spot-kick, sending Denmark out of the competition.But legendary goalkeeper Peter told of his pride in not only his son but his team-mates who had given their all in their bid to reach the quarter-finals.
